Laminate Flooring Installation
Laminate flooring has a decorative surface over a manufactured core, giving you a choice of timber-look designs without using solid timber boards. It may suit bedrooms, living spaces or a renovation where you want to refresh several rooms with a coordinated finish. Room suitability and resistance to spills vary between products, so the exact range matters.
Installation starts with checking the existing floor, the flatness and condition of the base, and any moisture concerns. The usual work includes preparing the surface, fitting the approved underlay and assembling the boards with the product's locking system. Doorways, perimeter movement space and the transition to other floor coverings are planned as part of the job.
Laminate should not be sanded back like a timber floor. A damaged decorative surface may need a suitable local repair or board replacement instead. Where a product is described as water-resistant, its installation details and care instructions still apply; this does not mean a damp base can be covered over.
