Flooring Removal and Replacement Preparation
Removing an old floor is often the first step towards a new one, but the amount of work depends on how the existing covering was installed. Floating boards, glued flooring and nailed timber can leave very different surfaces underneath. This service suits renovations where the old flooring needs to come up before the next stage can be planned properly.
I look at the existing material, its fixing method, room access and the areas you want to keep. We discuss removal of the agreed covering, relevant trims and remaining fixings or adhesive where appropriate. Waste handling, access routes and the extent of preparation are set out as part of the job rather than left unclear.
The condition of the hidden base cannot always be confirmed before the floor is lifted. Extra repairs or levelling may become apparent, and these should be discussed before proceeding. Suspect old materials or structural damage need the appropriate assessment; ordinary flooring removal is not a hazardous-material removal or structural demolition service.
Tell me what is currently on the floor, what you plan to replace it with and whether the rooms will be occupied. Photos and an approximate area will help us discuss the removal scope and next steps.
