Chevron Flooring Installation
Chevron flooring uses boards with angled ends that meet to create a continuous V-shaped pattern. Compared with the staggered joints of herringbone, it gives a more clearly defined centre line. It can be considered for a hallway, a living area or a renovation where the direction and rhythm of the floor are important to the design.
I begin by discussing the view into the room, the main centre line and how the pattern will meet doorways and adjacent spaces. The base is assessed before setting out, and the chosen product determines the fixing method and installation details. Keeping the layout balanced matters just as much as selecting the colour.
Chevron requires boards made for the selected pattern and angle; it is not simply ordinary flooring laid diagonally. Board size, left and right pieces, perimeter finishing and the allowance for cuts should be checked together. Product-specific movement joints and restrictions still apply even when a continuous visual line is preferred.
Send a reference image and an approximate plan of the area if you have one. I can help you discuss the pattern direction, material options and edge details before the installation and supply arrangements are confirmed.
