Loose and Squeaky Floor Repairs

I ask where and when the noise occurs, then check the accessible flooring and how it has been installed. We may need to look at edges, transitions or the base beneath the affected area. The agreed repair could involve appropriate refixing, local board work or addressing a preparation or movement issue, depending on what is found.

Some movement or occasional sound can occur in flooring without a single repairable fault. A floating floor must also remain free to move as its system requires; simply screwing it down is not an appropriate general fix. Structural concerns need separate assessment, and complete silence cannot be promised from an initial description.
