Floor Gap and Edge Repairs
Visible gaps or raised edges can affect how a floor looks and feels, but they do not all have the same cause. A separated joint, a chipped edge and a floor responding to changing moisture conditions need different attention. This service focuses on assessing local problems and discussing a repair that suits the flooring system.
I check the material, the pattern and location of the gaps, and whether the boards are still properly connected. The surrounding edges and movement allowances are relevant too. Depending on the findings, options may include an appropriate local repair, resetting a suitable section or replacing a damaged board.
Some gaps are deliberately provided so the floor can move, and filling them indiscriminately can create another problem. Seasonal changes, moisture or damaged locking joints may also mean that a cosmetic filler alone is unsuitable. The aim is to address a repairable issue while keeping the product's required movement, rather than simply hiding every visible space.
Send close-up and wider photos, and let me know whether the problem changes with the weather or has appeared suddenly. We can discuss what needs checking and which repair options may be appropriate.
