Skirting Board Installation and Replacement
Skirting boards finish the junction between the wall and the floor. New or replacement skirting can bring a room together after flooring work, while a carefully chosen profile can suit either an existing interior or a wider renovation. We can discuss the height, shape and finish alongside the flooring rather than leaving the wall edges as an afterthought.
I check the existing skirting, wall condition and how the new floor meets the perimeter. The scope can include removal of agreed sections, cutting and fitting replacement lengths, and finishing corners and joins as appropriate. Whether existing pieces can be reused depends on their condition and how they were originally fixed.
The floor's movement requirements still matter. Skirting or scotia should finish the edge without incorrectly pinning a floating floor in place. Wall repairs, painting and any separate decorative work need to be clearly included or excluded, since removing older skirting may reveal marks or uneven surfaces.
Send a photo of the current room edge and an example of the style you like if available. We can discuss whether to retain, replace or add a suitable trim, and confirm the materials and finishing work required.
