Floor Trims, Thresholds and Transitions
Trims and transition profiles finish the points where flooring meets another surface, a doorway or an exposed edge. They may cover an intended movement gap, bridge a suitable difference in floor height or provide a neat end to the flooring. This service suits both new installations and existing areas where the finishing detail needs attention.
I check the materials on each side, the height difference and the space available for fixing the profile. We then discuss a suitable shape, colour and fixing method, taking account of doors and everyday access. Where a profile forms part of the flooring system, its placement needs to be planned with the installation.
A decorative trim cannot correct a loose base or an unsuitable height change by itself. It also should not block the movement required by a floating floor or conceal a joint that needs a different detail. The right solution depends on the actual junction rather than using the same strip everywhere.
Send a photo from above and from the side of the area if possible. Tell me which materials meet there, and we can discuss a practical finish and whether any preparation is needed first.
